Touristic Information website
Visit Ibiza is traditional touristic information website that features lots of information, places to visit, activities to try, and cultural and historic wonders on Ibiza island
Project Overview
This responsive website is one of many I’ve created in the last years as a freelance website designer before I found my way into UX Design. I use WordPress to build sites, and I’ve spent a lot of time perfecting my workflow. I’m constantly searching how to make sure that the websites I create are efficient, fast, and fulfil the requirements and needs of my clients.

The Problem
This website is similar to many other touristic information sites around the world. Although, at the same time, is quite different to the websites that feature information about Ibiza on the internet.
The most important aspect of this website is that it does not focus on the more usual and well-known features of Ibiza. Not forgetting that the island receives worldwide fame as a summer holiday destination and is home to some of the best nightclubs on the planet, Visit Ibiza aims to highlight the lesser-known features of the island.
One of the most prominent features is the designation of the old town of Ibiza and some of its surrounding areas as a World Heritage Site since 1999.
Because of its history, Ibiza Town is one of the ten oldest cities in Spain, and of its nature, the island has many attractions.
That is why the design had to reflect this varied touristic offer, giving special importance to those aspects less known by the general public.
The Solution
The design focused on a close relationship between text and image. As is usual in this type of website, the amount of content could make navigation and usability difficult for the user.
Therefore, information architecture was one of the key points before starting the design. In a way, the site has been conceived as a magazine, a publication where to find relevant information about many aspects of the island.
The challenge has been to design it to be useful for two very different types of users. Those who like to study the places they go to (by using Lonely Planet-style guides), and those who simply look for specific information about a place or activity on the island.
To this end, sections in the purest tourist guide style have also been included, along with others that are more informative or informative.
